Palma
Formerly known as the Al Areen Palace & Spa, the renowned hospitality brand Accor assumed control of the hotel in 2019. Following an extensive renovation, the establishment has been reintroduced as Raffles Bahrain, aligning with the French chain's ambitious plans to redefine luxury hospitality in the country. A significant aspect of the concept was rooted in a profound respect for tradition and heritage, seamlessly blended with modern interpretations to align with Raffles as a contemporary brand. Bishop Design is delighted to be a part of this iconic project.

Our intention for Palma was a reflection of heritage seen through a contemporary mirror. The concept narrative was to create a visually dynamic space for All-Day-Dining within the hotel. Its sentiments and design styling are deeply rooted in tradition and heritage, yet combined with modern interpretations. The intended design becomes a hybrid of these sentiments combining other demographics that have influenced the region over time, elevating a truly immersive and authentic experience.
Drawing inspiration from the Caravanserai—traditional meeting places for travellers and traders to rejuvenate and replenish—the design takes guests on a visual journey where the core narrative revolves around enhancements and interpretations.
