Strongly influenced by Shanghai’s stylish French concession area known as the ‘Paris of the east’ the restaurants biophilic elements imitate its leafy boulevards whilst diverse design elements make reference to its French colonial mansions. A sense of opulence is portrayed through art deco design elements, a movement well known in China for its rich colours, bold geometry and decadent detail work.
A central show kitchen gives guests a unique visual experience as well as the chance to interact with the art of Chinese cuisine. Surrounded by monochromatic finishes, warming eccentric lighting elements and rich fabrics guests indulge in an intriguing yet laid back experience. Coffered ceiling detailing and silk upholstered wall tapestries paired with statement distressed paint colours give an authentic yet modern-day nod to China’s rich and layered history. Light oak parquet flooring and antiqued bronze metalwork run through the interior adding a sense of elegant sophistication.
