Best High-End F&B Interior Design Concept

 

This week marked the milestone 20th edition of the Commercial Interior Design Awards: MENA, bringing the region’s design community together to celebrate its standout projects, people and practices.

Our first win of the night went to Bhawan, which was named Best High-End F&B Interior Design Concept.

For this category, the judges were looking for a concept in which atmosphere, materiality, lighting and spatial design came together to create something distinctive and memorable. That is exactly what Bhawan delivers.

Designed for Aloft Abu Dhabi, Bhawan is a specialty Indian restaurant offering a contemporary expression of Indian modernism. The concept brings tradition and modernity together through handcrafted techniques, culturally rooted motifs and natural materials, balanced by clean, functional forms and a distinctly contemporary design language.

The concept impressed the judges with the confidence of its balance between cultural reference and contemporary hospitality. Rich in character and detail, the design celebrates its influences without resorting to obvious symbolism or pastiche.

A huge congratulations to the entire team behind the concept on a thoroughly well-deserved win.
