The last 12 months...

Over the course of the last 12 months Bishop Design navigated a year that was both demanding yet highly rewarding. Besides establishing our presence in the U.S, we witnessed the successful launch of numerous projects, were appointed as the designers for some groundbreaking concepts (to be unveiled throughout the year), and received international acclaim from esteemed awarding bodies along the way. 

Our first milestone was reached in January when we inaugurated our new Miami office—a pivotal outcome of our ongoing strategic growth initiative.

April marked the two-year anniversary since the inception of SLS - a project that stands as a remarkable highlight within our portfolio. The significance of SLS was further underscored a few months later at the prestigious International Hotel & Property Awards. Here, the venue received the globally recognised Elite Hospitality Design award, solidifying its status as an outstanding achievement in the realm of design excellence.

In June, Paul was recognised as Commercial Interior Design’s, Interior Designer of the Year - Saudi Arabia, a testament to his incredible talent, leadership and the undeniable mark he continues to make within the region. Additionally, as a firm we were honoured with the highly commended Interior design firm of the year award highlighting our dedication to pushing the boundaries of design and setting industry standards.

Other noteworthy achievements include the reception of a total 15 new awards and accolades, the opening of 17 completed venues, and the signing of many projects worldwide, emphasising our standing as industry frontrunners.

Throughout the year, we continued to champion the design industry through active involvement in panel appearances and roundtable discussions, collaborations with higher educational facilities, industry peers, and the broader design community.

We joined INDEX’s advisory board, which also entailed judging an undergraduate competition were the students had the opportunity to win an internship at a design firm of their choice. Additionally, we participated as judges in other student competitions at Heriot-Watt and Kingston University (UK) and dedicated additional time to a teaching role at the school of fashion and design - Istituto Marangoni. 

Marking the end of an extraordinary year, we look forward to continuing this positive momentum into a significant year for Bishop Design. We remain dedicated to elevating our Dubai-born studio to unprecedented levels of innovation, collaboration, and success, reflecting not only our dedication to regional growth but also our aspiration to contribute meaningfully to the broader global community.
