MIKA Wins Best Restaurant Design – Americas

Another week, another win, and this one means a great deal to us.

MIKA Coral Gables has been named Best Restaurant – Americas at the 2026 International Hotel & Property Awards, hosted by design et al.

Celebrating outstanding hospitality design from around the world, the awards bring together some of the industry’s most ambitious projects. To see MIKA recognised on this global stage is an incredibly proud moment for Bishop Design and everyone involved in bringing the restaurant to life.

Created in collaboration with restaurateur Alex Pirez, MIKA combines contemporary Mediterranean sophistication with the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere Miami does so well.

The design was shaped around creating a restaurant that feels refined without becoming overly formal - a space with a strong identity, but one that guests can settle into and enjoy. Since opening in Coral Gables, MIKA has become a genuine local favourite and remains a project very close to our hearts.

 

A Milestone for Bishop Design in the Americas

As one of our first significant restaurant projects in Miami, MIKA represents an important chapter in Bishop Design’s continued growth across the Americas.

This award is about more than one project. It reflects the work we have put into establishing our presence in the region, the relationships we have built and our ambition for what comes next.

Every award means something, but seeing a project that played such an important role in our Miami journey take home a global accolade makes this one particularly special.
